Access Doors

Access Doors

This week I have posted some access doors. I know not everyone needs these but when you need one this is the best one available (IMHO). In my case, I wanted to create an access opening to our water shutoff valve which is in the crawlspace and not easily accessible. This through-wall access door makes it much more accessible and that was my goal. I have made two sizes 6" and 8". I think it will have plenty of other applications too.

The door snaps into the wall without screws or fasteners, and accommodates wall thicknesses from 3/8" to 3/4". The collars that pass through the wall to hold it all together keep the opening clean and tidy. The door is removable and installable in any orientation. There is a "lock" feature to prevent accidental opening. And, best of all you can print it at home and put it to use for less than it costs to buy a commercially made one.

I am working on (amongst many other things) a spring-fit style access panel as well.

I have also posted a larger size of my card holder for those more into card play!
