WallPlate replacements
This is a single-gang toggle-style wall plate.
This is a sample of my collection of wallplates for North American style electrical outlet and switch wall plates. I have created them for 1, 2, 3 and 4 gang rocker-style, toggle-style, classic outlet and blanks.
IMPORTANT As the wall plates of switch and electrical outlets are considered part of a flame enclosure it is important to use a flame retardant / self-extinguishing filament when printing parts to be used in electrical applications. More information and links to some suitable filaments can be found here... https://all3dp.com/1/3d-printing-with-flame-retardant-materials/ and... https://www.prusa3d.com/en/product/prusament-petg-v0-jet-black-1kg
Print Settings
For the best results, I suggest the following: Nozzle = 0.4mm Layer Height = 0.2mm Line Width = 0.4mm Wall Count = 4 (1.6mm) Top and Bottom Layer Count = 5 Detect Thin Walls = ON Wall Generator = Arachne Infill = 40% (Cubic) Ironing = Not required Support = No Print orientation = As per the STL/3MF files.

Revisions and Updates I occasionally update and revise my designs. When I do, I’ll document the changes here. Check back periodically for the latest revision notes or if you’re experiencing any issues with a model.

It would be so cool if you made them configurable - like one that had a socket, then a big square switch and then a small light switch for instance
Interesting idea. I will give it some thought. I am not sure I know how to do that but if I can it would be great. Thank you.
Make sure to print using flame retardant filaments.
Are your switch plates catching fire? this may be a wiring issue
I have definitely found scorch marks on the back side of some outlet covers when I have gone to replace them. Every house I’ve owned has some weird wiring done by previous owners. Don’t be lax with precautions around mains power.
In North America at least, the switch and outlet covers are considered part of the electrical enclosure and the electrical code requires that they be made from flame-retardant material.
I can only open one file. IT NOT WORKEY
Can you explain what file can you open and not open.
