Coupling - Cardan - Double Universal joint (Acople - Cardan - Junta Universal Doble)

The cardan, universal joint is a mechanical coupling that allows joining two non-coaxial shafts and transmitting the rotational movement from a driving shaft to another driven, despite not being collinear. Compared to other types of joints, it has the characteristic of being a non-homokinetic joint; that is, the axis to which the movement is transmitted does not rotate at a constant angular velocity. The instantaneous transmission ratio oscillates around the unit, generating an acceleration and a delay in the driven axle for each half turn, the intensity of which increases as a function of the angle formed by the shafts. El cardán, junta universal es un acoplamiento mecánico que permite unir dos ejes no coaxiales y transmitir el movimiento de rotación desde un eje conductor a otro conducido a pesar de no ser colineales. Frente a otro tipo de articulaciones tiene la característica de ser una junta no homocinética; es decir, el eje al que se transmite el movimiento no gira a una velocidad angular constante. La relación de transmisión instantánea oscila alrededor de la unidad, generando en el eje conducido una aceleración y un retraso por cada medio giro, cuya intensidad aumenta en función del ángulo formado por los árboles.
