Coconuts!
The winner oft the latest member poll to continue the fruit series. The idea is simple: You have the meat and shell of a coconut and those could somewhat be four bowls – once again with a sprinkle of imagination.
I went on a little journey to get actual coconuts arounds here but with a little help from the community I found a shop that sells them. Since they are a little hairy – I had to glue down some of the fiber to the shell to get this scannable. After a long clean up phase I cut open two coconuts to see how the breaking line in the middle behaves. I decided to give it a prominent dent – that makes the stacking easier. Otherwise, you would have to rotate the parts around to see when they fit. I also made the cut slightly slanted so the top stays on top. I then modified to the top and bottom so the bowls can stand up straight. I improvised some curly fiber for that.
To make the designs support free I had to split the shell into four parts. This way you will have good detail quality in all directions. Besides the little glue you need for that it is a very easy print.
Have fun printing!
