I’m really excited to share my latest project: a Stormtrooper layered art design that’s printed in one piece, using color swaps at different layers to create depth and contrast.

The layered look doesn’t come from separate parts, but from the clever use of filament changes during the print. By gradually moving from deep black at the base through darker and lighter greys all the way to white at the top, the design builds up a bold dimensional effect.

What makes this piece special

• Prints in one continuous run with planned filament swaps
• Layered shadows and highlights create a natural 3D look I- ncludes a 3D printable frame that can either hang on a wall or stand on a shelf with two attachable support pieces
• No glue or complex assembly required – it’s ready to display straight off the printer

This technique was a lot of fun to explore. It blends the simplicity of a single print with the striking results of layered artwork, and the Stormtrooper design is perfect for showing off that contrast.
