A lot of the K40 laser cutters sold on ebay are bluff packages. They contains a 600mm laser tube never able to provide the promised 40W laser power. 600mm tubes have a nominal power of 20W and a peak power between 25-35W. They are higly overdriven in the sold devices drastically reducing their life time. See: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c9hjeLTwPfI . My tube died after 20 hours. A real 40W tube has a length between 700mm and 720mm and will not fit in the devices case. Luckily there was a covered window on the side of my device where the longer tube can jut through. But at this side of the tube are the 20kV high voltage connected and the overhanging part of the tube is not mechanical protected. The here provided cover protects this part of the tube and isolates the high voltage connector preventing it from being touched.
Edit 2018/12/21: If the tube is not mounted centric to the hole but near to bottom the cooling water loop collides with the covers inner chamfer. In this case use the longer version of the cover: tubecover_105mm.stl
