#Gift | #7Days - #Day5 | #PDO | Active 2 44mm Smart Watch Charging Stand | NoahMillerDesign
byNoahMillerDesignThis model was designed in Autodesk Fusion 360 for the Product Design Online #Gift 3D modeling challenge. In addition to the main design challenge, Kevin Kennedy of Product Design Online issued a challenge to anyone wanting to develop their 3D modeling abilities even more; create a unique 3D model each day for the last seven days of the main challenge’s timeframe. This is the model that I designed for Day 5 of this mini challenge.
This simple, yet elegant charging stand is designed for a Samsung Active 2 44mm smart watch along with it’s charger. While rigid materials such as PLA or PETG would likely work for this model, it was designed with flexibility in mind. For the best fit it’s recommended to use a semi-flexible TPU.
This model has been designed with FDM printing in mind. The charging stand is structured so that it will print without any support material on a well-tuned machine. It also incorporates the appropriate edge geometry to ensure that it will print cleanly and prevent “elephant’s foot” first-layer expansion.
