SPIRALIS Pot 001

The first pot from the SPIRALIS Collection, which features distinct swooping spirals that catch light and strengthen the walls. SPIRALIS 001 is 168 mm in diameter and 113 mm tall, but it can be scaled up and down to suit your plant or another purpose.

This pot includes a drainage hole on the bottom for growing live plants and is designed to be paired with my 200 mm Floating Drip Tray to allow for excess runoff.

Printing Guidelines

This download includes a solid walled version with rougly 5mm wall thickness for a very solid pot, as well as additional versions for printing in vase mode, which can offer an exceptional surface finish.

The solid version is designed to print very easily, but you may want to increase wall count, top solid layers, and flow/extrusion multipliers as necessary to create a watertight print. I used 3 shells and 8 solid top layers.

If using vase mode for planting, I would suggest increasing extrusion width to 1 mm or so to increase strength. For the 'wHole' versions, increase bottom solid layers to match the depth of the hole so it doesn't interfere with the vase mode printing (inspect sliced model and add bottom layers to be one less than whatever value covers the hole... 10 bottom layers when printing at 0.16 mm layer height, but may vary based on initial layer height).

You may also print the vase mode without bottom holes and simply drill/cut your own drainage holes after printing.

Photographed models were printed on the Bambu Lab X1-Carbon 3D Printer using Bambu Lab Translucent PETG filament.* *These affiliate links give me a commission on sales at no additional cost to you. Thanks for supporting Make Anything!
