Use 1.75mm filament as hinge axles. Push it all the way through and clip it. If it's difficult to insert, it helps to cut the filament roughly to size beforehand, inserting it as far as it goes by hand and then pushing it in the rest of the way with something flat.
If the fitment feels loose, you can add a drop of superglue at the ends.
Use filament for the latch catch bars too.
Filament for latch hinges too, why not.
After gluing the corner deco plates, a large rubber band helps keep them in place while the glue dries.
