This is the part that will slide over the shifter rod and allow the attaching of different knobs. There are 3 screw holes. one at the top for a M3x16-20 screw to thread through the top of the shifter rod. 2x M4x4 grub screws that help locate this part to the shifter rod

The way this works is the top M3 screw will thread through the exposed plastic piece at the top of the stock shifter rod. You will then be able to pull up on this part along with whatever knob is attached to it to disengage the transmission to shift gears
