Skilom

I uncovered this strange artifact in my garden the other day. What is it? And why do I love it so much?

See here for video: https://youtu.be/nGdtFcfjxc0

I wish I could offer instructions for assembly. I found it and managed to disassembly it, but I have no idea how it goes back together. Maybe you can help?

The red outer body is covered in randomly placed protrusions, each of which contains a blue, oval-shaped piston of sorts.

Rotating the bottom plate makes the blue pistons move in and out. There seems to be some sort of pattern in the movement, but I can’t figure out what it was supposed to do.

I managed to unscrew the bottom and pulled out a stack of offset circular cams that must have been driving the movement of the pistons. I am not sure I can put it back together.

I’m going to send it off to the folks at the Elgreen Project (http://www.elgreenproject.com/) , maybe they’ll recognize it.

Do you know what it is? Do you know what it was used for?
