Sailor’s Knot Wreath (3 cord)
A “Sailor’s Knot Wreath” is a decorative knot made from one continuous length of rope intertwined to make a closed loop. The knots are classified by the number of “leads” and “bights”. “Leads” refer to the number of crossings, while “bights” are the points in the center of the wreath.
These are “three-lead, five-bight” knots modelled with three cords and five cords. These models look great with wood filament! See here for video: https://youtu.be/jHfcsY-J5fo
These models have irregular bottom surfaces and can be difficult to print. Try raising the model 3mm off the build plate and generating tree supports underneath. You may also wish to increase the “Retraction Minimum Travel” value to reduce the number of retractions. You may get a bit more stringing, but that will add to the rough appearance of the cord.
