Model originally uploaded to Thingiverse at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1644443.

The mounts are designed to raised the heated bed from the base for 12mm in order to have a little distance between the stepper motors and the electronics underneath the bed.

My original design uses only M3 screws which is not ideal for mounting on the 2020 aluminum rail. The new design uses M4 screws, so that you can easily slot a M4 square nut into 2020 the aluminum rail in order mount the base. The new design also come with an embedded M3 nut so that the thread for the clip will hardly loses it grip even after a lot of taking off and putting on. The base also uses a single screw so that the angle can be easily adjusted for tighter fit. You probably able tight fit the bed without the clips if you wish to maximize the print area.

3 sets are the minimum, you can use up to 6 sets for even more secure mounting.

Materials for each set

  • M4 x10MM x1
  • M4 square nut x1
  • M3 x 8MM (up to 12mm) x1
  • M3 hex nut x1

How to embed the M3 nuts The base is designed to be printed as 2 process. you want to manually edit the gcode of your slicer generated to pause at 12mm so that you can embed the M3 nut into the print.

How to install

  1. Slides the M4 nut into the 2020 rail slot.
  2. Screw and align the base to the M4 nut with the M4 screw, do not tighten yet .
  3. Dry fit and adjust the bases according to the bed.
  4. Tighten the M4 screws when you find the correct alignments
  5. Install the clips by using the M3 screws.
