What is inside?
This lockbox is sold as a kit of .stl files, with the final build consisting of over a dozen pieces and parts that must be assembled together. A digital parts / assembly / printing .pdf guide is included to help walk you through the assembly process.
How is it printed?
The largest parts in this kit require a print volume of at least 165x160x240mm in dimension. Your 3D printer should be properly configured and "dialed in" to print fine lines accurately, as some of the parts include 3D printed screw threads and ratchet arms.
All of the provided .stl files are prearranged to import into your slicer in the proper orientation. Supports are required for some of the parts in this kit; refer to the printing guide documentation for more details. See the assembly guide for more information on putting together the overall lockbox.
Was it test printed?
Yes! The complete lockbox was printed on a Prusa XL using the standard Prusaslicer 0.15mm speed profile with various types of Polymaker PLA. Using the recommended printing settings, the final single-color assembled print weighs in at just under 2.5lbs (just over 1kg) and took approximately 60 hours to complete at high quality. The multicolor variant weighs approximately 3.5lbsthe (just over 1.5kg) and takes almost 120 hours to print at high quality. Weight and print time will vary depending on your own specific setup.
How is it licensed?
Like all of our designs at Hamilton PrintWorks, this lockbox design is an original work protected under copyright law and the lockbox model itself bears the HPW logo (where feasible). While you can make minor modifications to the models to aid in printing the parts themselves, the HPW logo must never be removed.
Purchasing this digital kit grants you a non-commercial personal-use license allowing you to print the lockbox for your own use. The digital files are never to be sold, shared, given away, or distributed in any way, nor are derivative works to be made from them without our consent.
For more legalese, see the linked license document on this page or in your .zip download archive.
