Sandai Kitetsu Multi-Part Collapsing Sword
Sandai Kitetsu Collapsing Sword Multi-Part Version
This version of the sword has been broken down to different parts so they can be printed separately in different colors then glued together. The cap is not glued on but is removable by squeezing its sides, the blades then can be printed separately and inserted or replaced.
You will need to do a manual filament swap to get a different color guard on the hilt. Be warned that the wrap on the multi-part version has some steep overhangs. Supports are not required, for best results use a .4mm nozzle. You can print the blades all at once concentrically or one at a time in vase mode. Find detailed instructions on how to print collapsing swords on my website.
There is a order of assembly in putting the wraps on the hilt. I would just try them until you find one with the correct end that is flush with the guard. Then install the ring and position the second wrap so its two ends are flush with the ring. Then the cap should hold it all together with a little bit of clearance. If the cap is not setting correctly, its probably because the wrap is not stacked right. Assembled with Starbond Medium CA Glue (aff.)
Printed on the Mulcore Core-XY 3D printer with Polymaker Metallic Pro PLA
