PringleSnake

I don't do a lot of flexi's because I always feel the 3d models space is over saturated with a gazillion articulating models, but sometimes I get a weird idea and decide to roll with it 😅

This is the PringleSnake and the name is self-explanatory. The scale will fit a 149g pringles package (which is approx. 23cm high), But as there are a lot of variation to pringles packages you can scale it up, or slightly down to fit your package size.

There are several variations:

  • No face snake
  • Face snake in single file including pre-colored 3mf file
  • Multipart face snake to avoid color changes

Printing:

This model can be a bit tricky if you have adhesion issues, so here are some guidelines:

My settings:

  • Brim with 0 gap
  • 2 Walls, 5% gyroid infill
  • Printed at 150mm/s for infill and 100mm/s for external walls
  • Print time: 10h
  • Weight: 220 grams

Additional tips & notes:

If brim doesn't cut it try using a raft. Slow down! For bedslingers: rotate the model 90 degrees so the parts face against the build plate movement As a last resort You can lower the model slightly below the build plate to increase flake surface area and improve adhesion.

Print the snake without supports — the only part that needs them is the mustache. Make sure to enable supports under it, since the surface area is basically non-existent.

final note - I wanted to have the parts as tight and close to each other - So the hinges connecting the parts are quite small, this means a drop on the floor will probably break it, and if you are scaling down watch for fusion.
