Leia's Dual Extrusion Collapsing Lightsaber
Leia's Dual Extrusion Collapsing Lightsaber. It’s designed to be a dual extrusion print with no supports. No assembly required, besides inserting the blades and screwing on the caps. The blades can be printed together or separately in vase mode, which is my recommendation. It’s designed to be printed with a ,4mm nozzle, with a line thickness of .43, so the blade will be two shells thick. The test print can be found here.
Detailed printing instructions can be found on my website
Printed on the Mudlex rep-rap IDEX printer.

Do you assembled the gold to the silver section. There are no instructions. I understand the blade printing but what about assembling the handle?
There is no assembly, its designed to be printed "dual-extrusion" on a multi-color printer. This is the multi-part version https://than.gs/m/1000660
Hi, I'm printing the blades for Leia's Dual Extrusion Collapsing Lightsaber but they're catching too early and only 60 mm of the 5th blade is extending from the hilt. I'm printing in vase mode from cura v5, first attempt 100% scale, line width to .90mm, .4mm nozzle and .25mm layer height; second attempt was at 0.70mm line width but there wasn't a big improvement. Should I lower the line width again or should I decrease the scale?
I think I am, in Cura I went to Special Modes >> Spiralize Outer Contour in Cura v5 and checked off the box. The printer is now doing the print in one continuous line of filament. I've never printed in vase before so I think this is it. When I scaled it in the x-axis to 90% and used 0.7mm line width I saw some improvement but I'm just not sure if this is the correct method. https://www.instructables.com/How-to-Make-a-Vase-With-Cura-31-in-Vase-Mode/
You want to change the line width, changing the scale wont change when it catches, it will just change the size. Are you sure its printing in vase mode? The difference between .9 and .7mm is huge, you should have saw a big difference.
cap doesnt fit the hilt when printed at 100%
Check your extruder calibration, or scale.
Hi there, I've attempted to print the blade assembly twice and around the 8-9 hour mark, the outer three blades fuse mid-way. I'm not sure how to combat this as I'm new to 3D printing.
Is there a way to separate each blade from the assembly vase file? I printed blades 1-5 and they're not hollow, they are quite long when put together too. I was hoping they were hollow so they could be collapsible. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!!
The single files are not hollow but when you select vase model and slice it they will be.
is it posible to make it at the same height as the others and compatible with the blades from the others?
Nope sorry, they are all a little different.
hi why is this sabre bigger than the other 2 sabres? i can not print it on my ender 3 v2
Sorry but this one would not have look proportional at the same height as the others.
