Working Starship model rocket with a second Heavy Booster stage!

Because of the lack of a third fin on the Starship its not the most stable flight but that just makes it a little more exciting…. It will fit; A. B, or C rocket engines but I have found C6-7’s work the best for the starship, and C6-0’s for the booster.

For a stable flight, the nose cone needs to be weighted. If you pause the print at 28mm heigh, there is a cavity in the nose cone which will allow you to insert 8 pennies for weight. Then, continue with the print to enclose the pennies in the nosecone. The cone and the body do not require supports as long as your printer is able to bridge.

Oh yeah, it fly’s high AF! Flight test

Thanks for the model. It will make a beautiful gift. I can't wait to see it fly. Any tips on parachute size? Should I fold it into the main tube in the booster with wadding as usual? What are the holes at the top of the booster intended for? Blowout prevention?

can you fly it without a second stage, so just the booster and then parachute it back to the ground?

How did you get the second stage to ignite?

Booster engines will ignite the second stage.
