Find sweet relief for those tight muscles with this powerful massage ball. This large 82mm (3.23 inch) diameter ball combines several prints for a flexible TPU surface and a solid, modular core. Customize by varying print settings and parts to suite you best.

(A larger 128mm version can be found here)

Printing Guidelines

  • The 'Outer' is designed to be printed with flexible filaments. I used 95A TPU, which is still quite stiff and offers a deep massage. To maintain flexibility, print with 2 perimeters, ,10% gyroid infill, .8mm top thickness, and 1.2mm bottom thickness. Lower layer height will make the top smoother (I used adaptive layer height between 0.2 and 0.1mm). There is some bridging inside which may be sloppy with TPU, but it's hidden so supports are not necessary.

  • The 'Insert' is an optional part that goes inside of the 'Outer' to fill an internal void and make the ball more solid. I ended up preferring the ball without these inserts.

  • The 'InnerCore' fits into each 'Outer' half. Print with PLA or another hard filament at 0.2mm layer height, 5 perimeters, 10% infill.

  • The 'Connector' threads onto both 'InnerCore' parts to connect the two halves of the ball. Print with PLA or another hard filament at 0.2mm layer height, 5 perimeters, 10% infill.

Even with flexible TPU, this massage ball can be quite aggressive. It is also best used through a layer of clothing to prevent irritation from the layer lines.

Photographed model was printed on the QIDI Plus4 3D Printer (Also on Amazon) using BambuLab 95A HF TPU filament, and various PLA filaments for the inside. *These affiliate links give me a commission on sales at no additional cost to you. Thanks for supporting Make Anything!
