Positron Cable Support
I created this to keep the toolhead cable and bowden tube of the Positron 3D Printer from getting caught on the linear rails while printing.
The cable and tube have a tendency to droop and potentially get caught on the linear rails while printing. This accessory takes care of that using a retractable badge clip to put a little upward tension on it.
Items needed:
(1) Printed parts set (Holder, Cover, Thumb Nut) (1) Heat set insert M3x5x6 (2) M3x12 screw (1) M3 hex nut (1) M3 Nyloc nut (1) Retractable badge clip https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09Z8ZW5KL
Assembly:
Install heat set insert into the larger hole in the middle on the top of the holder. Place a nyloc nut in the hex cutout on the bottom of the holder. Place cover onto holder and place an M3x12 screw through and fasten into nyloc nut in holder. Tighten, but do not over tighten. The cover should be able to swivel. Place the M3 nut into the hex cutout on the Thumb Nut Screw an M3x12 screw through from the other side of the Thumb Nut into the hex nut and tighten until the screw head is against the Thumb Nut Remove the clip from the retractable badge clip. Also remove the badge holder from the end of the string. Using a zip tie, create a loop through the metal loop at the end of the string Using another zip tie, affix that to roughly the midway point between the bowden tube/toolhead cable pair.
Instructions for use:
This is meant to be easily setup and broken down, keeping in line with Positron's design. The retractable badge clip can remain attached to the bowden tube/toolhead cable pair.
Deploying/Folding:
This step is to be done before bed is placed.
Swing cover open. Place onto Bed V holder. Place retractable badge clip into holder. Swing cover closed. Install thumb nut into screw in middle and tighten down. Perform same steps in reverse after removing the bed when folding the printer.
Here's a video that outlines the assembly and usage.
