Stacking Sieves // Customizable Sifter, Sorter, Strainer
byMake AnythingIf you need to separate big things from smaller things, this print may solve your problems!
These stacking sieves can be customized to sort out different sized bits based on your print settings! The top and bottom can be printed solid using your standard slicer settings. For the sieves, here are some recommended guidelines:
- 0 top and bottom layers,
- 3+ perimeters
- increase infill extrusion width to 0.6+ for a more durable part
- Grid infill (alt. triangle or hexagonal depending on what you're sifting)
- Infill % determines how fine the mesh is
Using the settings above, a 0.6mm extrusion width, grid infill at 15% will create a ~7.5 mm mesh, 30% infill = ~3.75mm mesh, 50% infill = ~2.2mm mesh, etc. Using this technique, the same sieve part can be used to create all the sieves your need.
The sieves screw together, so you can stack them with the fine sieves below the more coarse sieves, which will separate your bits by various sizes in one go! Screw the bottom on to capture the most fine particles, and the lid on top completely encloses the sieve so you can shake and sort quickly without making a mess.
