Serger Spool Adaptor for Home Sewing Machines
byMake AnythingIf you're using a ton of thread going bulk is a great way to save money, and with this adaptor it's super easy! I designed this quick print so you can use cheaper serger cones of thread on your standard home sewing machine.
I designed this for these AK Trading Spools and I'm not sure how standardized these cones are. Please comment your results with different spools.
These are made for use with your slicers vase mode print setting. Set nozzle width to 0.6mm, even if you have a 0.4mm nozzle (vase mode is forgiving here). Top and bottom layers are optional. Photos show 0 top layers. The touching walls should fuse, so increase flow/extrusion multiplier if necessary.
I've also included a non-vase mode version that you can print at 0-10% infill, 2-3 shells, ~1mm top and bottom thickness.
