VERSION 2 IS NOW AVAILABLE

SKEWBITS is an original puzzle game designed specifically for 3D printing. Fit the four unique Skewbits into various silhouettes. You may be surprised by how challenging some of the problems can be!

Watch my video to learn more

Basic Rules

  • Fit the 4 skewbits within each outline. You do not have to fill every space, but most solutions will.
  • Only use the skewbits right side up. You may not flip the parts upside down

This download includes the grid and puzzle pieces. Individual problems can be downloaded below

Printing Guidelines

  • Grid.stl : Your usual print settings should work fine. I used 15% infill, 5 top layers, 0.2mm layer height. Optionally, swap filament above 1.2mm to make the grid stand out.
  • Skewbits A-D : 2-3 perimeters, 0.16mm layer height. No supports. Proper extrusion is important to ensure the print-in-place hinges are sturdy without fusing together (Clearance is 0.3mm). Use the colors indicated by the filenames if you want to match the solution guide. Prints right side up.
  • Grid_TPUgrip.stl - Optional grip for the bottom of the grid. Print solid using Ninjaflex TPU(Also on Amazon) or similar. Glue in place using E6000 adhesive, etc.
  • Grid_LaserGrip.svg : Optional grip for the bottom of the grid. Designed for lasercutting. I used 3mm cork. Watch my video for details.

Congratulations to Benji S. for winning the first two competitions! There is a new competition. The first players to send photo proof to competitions@makeanything.design after solving puzzles 026-30 and 026-40 will get $100 and $250 towards 3DJake.com

I've made 4 of them so that my students (9-12) can play with it.
Thank you for this great game. <3

I also posted it on Mastodon to spread the word.
Thanks for your work!

Slight modification to make the numbers easier to see. Now to reprint them all.
Great Game - Tried to come up with something to "Store" Problems and the Game - far from perfect, might be an Idea for a better 3D-Artists than me....
My son finally doesn’t ask for a screen. Instead he asks to play the puzzle game. He’s through 6 so far

Did you change the puzzles to have the little number label on them? Are you willing to share the design?

Big success as a gift for my 8-year-old niece's birthday!

My kids love these, but the hinges keep breaking. Any tips on making them stronger? I'm using PLA+.

[Edit] I was printing w/ a 0.6mm nozzle. Switched to a different machine w/ a 0.4 nozzle and it is coming out much stronger.

Was that all you had to do? I've been having a terrible time trying to get these to print with PLA+, though I did one set with regular PLA and it came out well. Have been trying different temperatures, infill, wall settings.. but haven't had any luck yet.

Where can we get the solution guide.
