Ambiguous Springo // Circle to Square Ambiguous Cylinder Illusion

Finally... the moment has come! Springo meets the Ambiguous Cylinder illusion to create this fun and mind-blowing optical illusion toy. Surprisingly, a regular FDM 3D printer and PLA filament can produce this continuous spiral without any support material, by printing 'floating layers' that lightly bond to the print below. Using your print removal tool you can carefully release the springo and experience the full springo-ness you deserve!

Recommended Printing Instructions:

There are a few ways to print the Ambiguous Springo. I prefer the ambiguous-springo-wstand.stl version, which includes a print in place stand, so you don't need to enable supports for the print at all!

Make sure the spiral portion of your print is solid for the strongest springo

I used 0.16mm layer height, 0.4mm nozzle, 6 shells, 8 top/bottom layers, 15% infill (Make sure the spiral portion of your print is solid for the strongest springo)

If your springo isn't sticking to the springo below it, try printing slower or increasing nozzle temperature.
