The chessboard can be printed in PLA with a 0.2 mm layer height. The chess pieces are color-adjusted post 4.6mm starting from white and changing to black. With a recommended print infill of just 10%, the model is not only accurate but also efficient. It's been tested to work equally well with PETG, ensuring flexibility for your printing preferences. Print endcap and storage twice.
For assembly cut 9 strands of filament (1.75 mm) to about 19.5 cm and slide it in according to the picture. Twist the filament whilst sliding in if you get stuck.
Once the game is done, the chessboard has an storage system. Simply slide the pieces into the designated bins and slide the board onto one endcap. The storage bins can then be placed into the tube and secured with the second endcap, making the entire setup compact and portable. The finished board is about 25 x 25 cm. Each field is about 2 x 2 cm.
