Be sure to print in “spiralized” or “vase” mode! The fit of the lids is optimized for a 0.5mm nozzle. Printing with a smaller nozzle may result in a loose fitting lid, printing with a larger nozzle may result in a tight fitting lid. To compensate, you can very slightly scale the lid smaller or larger in your slicer as needed.

Print the boxes and lids as oriented. The lids fit in one orientation only, so you may have to try a few times!

This Easter Egg appears plain at first glance but pop a light inside or behind it and see the pictures and secret message shine through! 

Very straightforward print, just set infill to 100% to make sure the infill pattern doesn't show - no need for supports!

Hidden Message Easter Egg

This gift box has a twist lock that when opened, allows the box to collapse when the lid is lifted, revealing the gift inside.

After printing the box, carefully pry the hinges loose of any fused spots. You may need to wiggle the box walls for a while to loosen them enough for them to tip and fall easily on their own, especially if you're using a glitter filament. You can also try applying some silicone lubricant to the hinges to help things along.

Assembly is simple; push the lock cylinder through the lid from underneath and glue the bow into it on the top side. Careful not to spill the glue and glue everything to the lid! Rotate the lock so the blades point the corners, lift up the box walls and push in the lid. Then rotate the lock 45 degrees to lock the present.

The bow and lock has a hole for a string or ribbon if you want to hang it.

 🎁 This print-in-place box is the perfect packaging for any present this holiday season. Unlike a regular gift that needs to be carefully unwrapped, this gift box unwraps itself; all you need to do is remove the lid, and the box sides will fall away. And when you are prepping the box simply fold the sides up, place the lid on top, and your gift is ready to present.  🎁

-This is the mini version of our Print-in-Place Present, only needing a 170mm cubed build volume, meaning that it will fit on almost any printer, including ones such as the Prusa mini. Once folded, the box can accommodate gifts inside that are approximately 40mm cubed or smaller. 

-Assembly Note: The first few threads for the bow are small, so make sure it is parallel to the lid and twist slowly to avoid cross-threading

-(AMS files are included for Bambu Labs Users as well as models for traditional dual-color slicing)

We created this box to compliment our Animal Ornament Series. This box has a piece in the bottom that allows you to attached a string that can go through the lid and either be tied in a bow or add an ornament.  We have also included a solid top if you prefer.

**Printing**

- All parts can be printed without supports.
- The base includes a few long bridging sections. 
- The spring works best if it's printed with enough perimeter lines to make the arms of the spring solid. This works better than just increasing the infill % because perimeter lines will flow in the direction of the spring arms.



**Assembly**

Assembly is the same as the original Twist Lock Trick Box. Watch [this video](https://youtu.be/1muiuHjyLlU) for the complete process.

Make sure to pre-tension the spring by one gear tooth
This will assure that the latches have a strong hold on the base. This is also necessary for the alignment of some toppers.

Make sure to glue the spring and topper
If you do not fully secure these parts, the mechanism may become detached while in a locked state. I recommend using either super glue or 3D Gloop!, but hot glue can work as well.
