Yashoda with Krishna, Epitome of Motherly Love

The relationship between Yashoda and Sri Krishna is one of the most celebrated mother-son relationships in Hindu Culture. Yashoda’s unfathomable love for Krishna has inspired many works of art. She is an integral part of Krishna’s childhood lilas.Krishna was born to Devaki and Vasudeva. But as fate would have it, it was Yashoda and Nanda who brought Him up. So, it was not Devaki but Yashoda who could witness all the beautiful lilas of Sri Krishna as He turned into a magnificent youth who mesmerised everyone who came in contact with Him.
The relationship between Yashoda and Sri Krishna is not just a bond between a mother and her son. In a way, Mother Yashoda is also one of the most ardent devotees of Sri Krishna. What begins as ‘Vatsalya Prem’ (love for her son) evolves into ‘Vatsalya Bhakti’ (devotion of a mother).

**ABOUT THE DESIGN**
This is a new variation on my Christmas Balls with Integrated Stems.

**NOT TO BE SOLD**
**I'm sharing my files so that you can make them for yourselves or give them away as gifts. I hope you enjoy them. I do not authorize sale of my work by anyone. Please don't ask me.**

**RESIZING**
These should scale up well, but I'm not sure how much smaller you could print them using a consumer FDM printer. Using a resin printer, you could probably print them much smaller.

**PRINT TIME**
About 4 hours.

**PRINT SETTINGS**
The trickiest parts to print is the top of the stems. Using FDM, if you don't temp, speed, flow, and cooling right, the thin parts of the stem will melt as you print. Thinner walls help. If that's not enough, try increasing the layer height. I printed at 200 C with 115% flow.

*Thickness*

* Layer thickness: .15 mm
* Wall thickness: 0.4 mm. 

*Infill*
This does not need any infill. JUST DON'T DO IT – especialy if you print it with transparent filament.

*Speed*
* Outer Wall: 20 mm/sec
* Top/Bottom Speed: 20 mm/sec
* Travel Speed: 50 mm/sec

*Build Plate Adhesion*
I relied on the supports for build plate adhesion. 

*Supports*
I first printed with used normal supports and an overhang angle of 67 degrees and no other supports. It worked until 2 minutes from completion, when the model came loose from the bed. When I tried again, I with an overhang angle of 64 degrees and added 8 custom supports that keep the model from wobbling. I've included a screenshot from Cura of the supports. 

I added a support blocker in the loop to keep from having supports added inside the loop.

It's designed to be printed in different color changes to achieve the final result, if you want you can print it in one color and paint later.
This is the filament color change configuration if you print with 0.2mm layer with Cura Slicer:
0 to layer 13 (0 to 2.6mm) = Silver
14 to 17 (2.8 to 3.4mm) = Black
18 to 21 (3.6 to 4.2mm) = White
22 to 25 (4.4 to 5mm) = Red

Symbolism of Krishna’s Flute

Krishna is pictured in Hindu symbology with a crown of peacock’s feathers, playing the flute. Krishna is the ideal of divine love, the God of love. And the divine love expresses itself by entering into man and filling his whole being. Therefore the flute is the human heart, and a heart which is made hollow will become a flute for the God of love to play upon. When the heart is not empty, in other words, when there is not scope in the heart, there is no place for love. Rumi, the great poet of Persia, explains this idea more clearly. He says the pains and sorrows the soul experiences through life, are like holes made in a reed flute, and it is by making these holes that a player makes the flute out of a reed. This means that the heart of man is first a reed, and the sufferings and pains it goes through make it a flute, which can then be used by God as the instrument for the music that He constantly wishes to produce. But as every reed is not a flute, so every heart is not His instrument. As the reed can be made into a flute, so the human heart can be turned into an instrument, and can be offered to the God of love. It is the human heart which becomes the harp of the angels; it is the human heart which is known as the lute of Orpheus. It was on the model of the heart of man that the first instrument of music was made, and no earthly instrument can produce that music which the heart produces, raising the mortal soul to immortality.
