We’re excited to announce a new release from Titan Forge! They’ve spent the past year sharing their original resin tabletop creations with the Thangs community, and this October they released FunPLAstic, a line of accessories and decorations intended for printing in FDM that will integrate seamlessly into your tabletop gaming experience.

They shared with us a little bit more about their creative process and what’s so cool about their new FunPLAstic line.

Thangs: What inspired you and your team to move into FDM printing?

Titan Forge: Combining both printing technologies, resin and FDM, is a perfect match and a big step towards building a complete Titan Forge tabletop experience. The tools allow us to bring the fantasy world to life at the table. Resin is great to print miniatures with a lot of detail, character, and identity, but miniatures shine brightest not on a blank surface but surrounded by complimentary elements that match the tone and story. That’s the experience we want to bring by designing printable elements like decorative dice towers or spell trackers that look like magical artifacts.

Thangs: Tell us what designs can members expect from FunPLAstic?

Titan Forge: We call it FunPLAstic, and it’s our newest adventure in 3D printable design. It’s all about tabletop gaming accessories and fantasy-themed home decor that complement our original resin miniatures. Think dice towers, spell trackers, dungeon terrain, and initiative tokens all in our signature Titan Forge style.

As miniature sculptors, Titan Forge is filled with gamers and we sculpt minis that we want to use in our games. Now with FDM accessories, we are using the same approach. The items should have a clear purpose and make your tabletop experience more fun, colorful, and most of all, convenient. This way, the players can focus on the immersion and roleplaying, but still get the kick out of using the handy items right there at the tabletop.

We’re also adding a festive touch to the line. Since our launch coincides with the Halloween season, players can expect candy bowls, candle holders, and ghostly figurines to add a few spooky designs to the mix.

Thangs: That sounds like an awesome combination of offerings! How is FunPLAstic structured by tier?

Titan Forge: We’re introducing a brand-new FDM Tier for $9 per month. Subscribers get 6 downloads per month, a welcome pack, and a commercial license for everything in the FDM line. Each month, we will add at least six new designs and we will also release a free model or two as well.

Our goal is to make the FDM line a perfect companion to our resin miniatures.

Thangs: You’ve built a huge following here on Thangs with nearly a million model views — how are fans reacting to this new direction?

Titan Forge: They’re curious and excited! Many of our long-time fans are resin printers, but we know a big part of the Thangs audience uses FDM. We see this as a bridge between two worlds — and we are eager to hear what the community thinks.

In fact, we’re inviting everyone to share their feedback and ideas. FDM is still new territory for us, which means there’s tons of room to grow and experiment. If someone dreams up a wild tabletop accessory, we want to make it happen.
