VR battery holder [!UPDATED!]

Have vive pro and the battery connector slowly died out on me so after eventually getting another battery (VRURC t2055) that was a bit bigger than the original with more capacity. I set out on a mission to somewhat recreate the vive battery waist holder thingy so this is basically that but for a bigger battery.

[ASSEMBLY]_(nuts not required, bolts recomended) use 2x 2.5m screws and nuts to hold plastic retainers in to hold the battery in. pause the print at layer 596 (easiest to do in slicer software) AFTER YOU HAVE CORRECTLY PAUSED IT... insert hex nuts in the holes at the side. i used a soldering iron at its lowest setting (210C) to snugly ensure the went in smooth and straight and tight. unpause printer and allow it to print over top. add the bolts later.

USE SUPPORTS 4 [MAIN PEICE] make sure to remove them from the nut pockets. ensure generous supporting inside back connector

[BACKPLATE] print on side (lines will go up/down. this ensures strength/flexibility) Be sure to sand down the back plate before inserting into the main holder (THEY ARE VERY SNUG) dont rip layers apart :) ..snug but not too snug, trust me

SUPERGLUE HIGHLY RECOMENDED but not required.

It works for me at least. Have fun.. Play On.. :)

thank you for pointing this out this could be true, I have not tested it. Although, it does last a long time, here is the amazon link that claims that capacity. https://www.amazon.com/20000mAh-VRURC-Charging-Portable-Compatible/dp/B09FK2VWKW further testing would be needed to know for sure...

the original battery can be found here... https://www.vive.com/us/accessory/power-bank-21w/ holding 9,750mah

the bigger one does seem to last relativelyyyyy twice as long (give or take). It makes the claim of high density Lithium Polymer. lead acid batterys are gauranteed to be larger regardless of capacity due to its internal structure designed for high current applications.

the new one only has a max of 22.5 watts output(5v, 4.5A)

one more point of reference, a milliamp is one thousanth of an amp (1/1000) therefore 20,000 mah equals a battery capacity of 20 amps. This may be claimed by the original battery pack's mfg. however be aware that chinese mfgs are notorious for making false claims such as this on battery packs, and as you may surmise, I have run afoul of them on trying to source power packs for my honeywell flash unit. Please dont take this as any form of hostility, rather take it as what I had to use my masters degree in elrctronics enginering was what to know what.

I have to seriously question this battery capacity. You see "mah" stands for milliamp hours... 20,000 mah equals 20 amp hours, and that is a rather substantial battery (see link for reference https://www.amazon.com/Battery-Replace-UB12200-EXP12200-Batteries/dp/B07TG7PJ41/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?keywords=12v+20ah+battery&qid=1657956517&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEyOE1U RVpaRDhNMkE3JmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwNTIzNTYzMTlRMlM1SFNJUEFGTyZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwOTU0NDQ5MUtNOVg2QzNXUDE4USZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX2F0ZiZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU= )
