1:144 Albatros D.III(Oef) Series 153 (Late)
This is a paintable 1:144 scale model of an Austro-Hungarian Albatros D.III Series 53 built by Oeffag (Oesterreichische Flugzeugfabrik AG). Since many painters choose their own mounting system, no peg is included on the plane. Pegs can be purchased separately in the Accessories section of this catalog.
While early Series 153 planes were identical to the Series 53 (other than the more powerful engine), later models discarded the spinner, which tests showed did little to improve aerodynamics. The twin guns were buried in the fuselage with only the butts exposed, making it difficult to clear jams. The 153 was a capable, robust fighter that held its own and scored more victories than any other Austro-Hungarian fighter.
