I've put together a few simple Gridfinity blocks for storage drives. A lot of us have tons of old drives sitting around - better to store them securely for future projects.

There are 3 sizes, which are as follows:

2.5" Drive Size: The main model fits 3 SSD-sized 2.5" drives (also known as laptop drives). Most traditional HDD 2.5" drives as well as virtually all SSDs will fit within the slots just fine. Its Gridfinity dimensions are 1x2x2. The slots are 7.2mm thick each.

Edit 5/23/22: Added another 2.5" option which fits older, thicker drives. The slots are 9mm.

Edit 09/03/22: Added the following sizes:

2.5in x 9mm 2.5in x 9.3mm 2.5in x 9.5mm 2.5in x 10mm

3.5" Drive Size: This model holds a single full-size 3.5" HDD. Its Gridfinity dimensions are 1x3x3. The slot is 26mm thick.

M.2 / NVME Drive Size: The final model stores M.2 or NVME sized drives. Store up to 8 within Gridfinity dimensions of 1x1x1. The slots are 3mm thick.

All of these will print just fine with the following settings:

Layer height: .24 - .32 Walls / Top / Bottom: 3 Infill: 10% - 20% Supports: none

Hi, Could you also add a 15mm variant for really thick 2.5" drives like ST5000LM000?

I don't use magnets in these models, personally.

I have a bunch of 2.5 drives that are still larger then 9mm - 9.2 or 9.3 should fit. Wound you mind sharing the source files for editing, or updating one a little bit larger?

Hi! Could you share the editable file for this? I have some 2.5" drives that are just a bit thicker than this model.

I've noticed that with a few of my older HDD 2.5" drives as well. I'll upload a version with bigger slots to accommodate that.

Edit: this is done - the new version has 9mm slots which fit even the older IDE 2.5" drives. Edit Edit: Additional sizes have been added to cover thicker 2.5" drives.
