I made these holders to have my phone sitting on top of my camera in the hotshoe while I shoot so that the phone camera can be recording video while I shoot pictures (without a hotshoe flash of course). I also use it with my Moza Air2 Camera Gimbal so that the phone software can make my Gimbal autotrack subject movement.
There are two versions, one looks straight ahead, while the other has a slight paralax adjustment to look at what the lens is looking at depending on focal length. I use Nikon. Your mileage will vary depending on what camera body you are using.

This grips the iphone tightly with no chance of it falling out. Be aware! It may fit tighter or looser in your hotshoe depending on camera brand.
