I made a simple paint tube carousel / lazy susan for my wife's Liquitex Acryilic Paints it holds 15 of the 4oz, 2oz and 0.74oz tubes and tubes with the same cap size. It also has a smaller recess for holding smaller tubes of paint (brands and sizes may vary).

Here is a little box and lid that I designed for my lovely wife. I printed it using woodfil filament, then sanded and finished with stain.

Print with 2 perimeters and low infill. I recommend printing at high resolution of .01 to .015mm layer height for easier finishing. The lid will require supports no matter what orientation your choose to print it. You may choose to use a raft.

Sugar Bowl with Lid

I first modeled and designed this flash modifier set for my Nikon SB800 Speedlight. The mount fits on the flash and the modifers attach magnetically to the mount for easy changing. The added benefit of using the magnets is that you can easily place gels or diffusion materials between the two pieces and the magnets will hold everything in place.

Speedlight Flash Modifiers ***Updated

This birdhouse was a commissioned work for someone special. I modeled it to replicate the ones made with real "gourds" but instead of hanging from a hook, I made the back flat to be able mount to a wall, fence or any flat surface. It has a 1.25in. entrance to accommodate Sparrow, Swallows or other similar sized species. It has adequate ventilation and weather-sealed, the back panel is easily removable for cleanout.

Print it laying on the back and use generous supports under the neck of the main house body. Use CA glue or an appropriate adhesive to permanently bond the perch and the mushroom cap roof.

Print with PETG or ABS, then paint to help with UV stability. I put a thin layer of bondo on mine and sanded it down to get it as smooth as possible. Make sure you use a wide brim  on the mushroom cap since it prints on the side.

It will keep it dry and dust free as well. Just throw a desicant pouch into the cord compartment. I printed in three parts...
1. Lid
2. Base
3. Hinge (created using the parametric hinge customizer here: https://www.thingiverse.com/apps/customizer/run?thing_id=2187167)


Because the customizer makes the hinges quite large, I increased the hinge tolerances to be a bit looser fitting and then reduced the size of the hinge in Simplify 3D to 27mm X 62mm before slicing. It took a bit of persuading the break the hinge loose, but I carefully worked at it for a few minutes immediately after the print finished so the plastic was still a bit warm and less brittle. Eventually, it started to move and now it hinges nice and smooth. I attached the hinge using CA glue so that no screws were needed.

I'm thinking about making a version with spaces to embed magnets to hold it closed. It was an afterthought and I may still drill some holes and glue some into the one I made.

I made this birdhouse to accommodate wrens or chickadees (other similar sized species as well). It has adequate venting and weather-sealed, easily removable wall for cleanout. There are two variations, depending on your printer size and mounting application. I made it to mount to a fence.

It is worth noting that the two version have slightly different entrance diameters.
TOP and BOTTOM Mount: Opening 35mm
DOUBLE TOP Mount: Opening 32mm

Mirror it in your slicer to face the other direction.

Print with PETG or ABS, then paint to help with UV stability. Make sure you use a very wide brim and anything that will help with adhesion to reduce warping.

This follow-focus speed crank works fantastic! Make sure to CA glue the knob to the handleshaft. There is a print-in-place ball bearing inside the crank lug. I recommend printing the threaded handleshaft vertically using a super wide brim. Also print the knob vertical with the opening on the bed with a super wide brim. I would also recommend using a bit of light lubricant when threading in the shaft to the lug as it is a snug fit. Print the crankshaft horizontally as it is in the file. Use a raft and supports. This will be the strongest orientation and allow the ballbearing and threads to work well.

My wife makes custom jewelry and asked me to make her a stand to hold finished necklaces and bracelets. So this is what I came up with as a first draft. It worked out really well. Very lightweight, stable and economical in terms of material usage. The "trunk" is printed to the maximum length I could fit diagonally on my Prusa i3 MK2S which worked out to 270mm. If you want to print it a bit taller or shorter just increase the length of the trunk in your slicer. I would say you could go quite a bit taller, but you should increase the infill on the trunk and base for stiffness. If you go too high, it will be unstable and more likely to tip front to back if bumped.

If you want to have staggered/offset heights on each trunk, just print one at a different length.

Necklace Tree

I made these holders to have my phone sitting on top of my camera in the hotshoe while I shoot so that the phone camera can be recording video while I shoot pictures (without a hotshoe flash of course). I also use it with my Moza Air2 Camera Gimbal so that the phone software can make my Gimbal autotrack subject movement.

There are two versions, one looks straight ahead, while the other has a slight paralax adjustment to look at what the lens is looking at depending on focal length. I use Nikon. Your mileage will vary depending on what camera body you are using.

I created these cylinder chambers to make a food dehydrator into a makeshift filament dryer. I made two sizes depending on how many spools I wanted to dry at one time.

*Important: DO NOT PRINT WITH PLA!!!

Make sure that you print out of material that has a higher heat tolerance, PETG, PEAK, Nylon otherwise they will warp from the heat the dehydrator produces. You can expect some shrinkage over time as the plastic anneals from the heat. This is normal.

This is a work in progress, so I will be making some tweaks. For instance, I will make them stackable. Currently, you can set one on top of the other, but it may shift from fan vibration and fall off depending on your machine. I can fit 4 to 5 spools in mine at one time depending on the filament brand.

Filament Dryer Chamber Extensions

I first printed https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2771557 but found that the design was too cramped. The thumb screws would press against the mount pretty much making the whole thing pointless. I also found the tolerances inadequate for my purposes. So using it as inspiration, I built this new shock mount from scratch in Fusion 360. I made the ring larger and more robust, increased the size of the shock cord holes and changed the spacing so that it is much easier to thread the webbing. The swivel mount is beefier and fits snuggly on my mic arm. The stantions are longer, wider and fit snuggly into the clamps and they provide more clearance from the thumbscrews. They also have slightly smaller slotted holes so that the 1/8" bungie https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B06X15V4WW/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&psc=1&linkCode=sl1&tag=skartzamzn01-20&linkId=dae17f979f375a38997dbf07114e7fd5&language=en_CA engages with a very satisfying "snap" and holds in place.

I printed the ring in Taulman Bridge Nylon at .3mm layer height with 80% infill. The stantions and clamps are printed in ABS at .2mm layer height. All have 4 Top and 4 Bottom layers. I would probably recommend printing the ring at 100% infill for additional torsional rigidity.

It works beautifully and I couldn't be happier, especially considering that it cost me $15 to make compared to $50+ for the Blue Shock Mount on Amazon.

Camera Rig Rail Rod Offset Clamps

This is more of a complete rebuild, rather than a true remix of the donnyb99 fantastic Y-Axis belt tensioner for the Creality CR-10 3D printer. I really liked the design, but felt that the tolerances were not where I felt they should be. The fit was way too loose and sloppy. I also experienced a failure whereby the head of the tensioning bolt pulled through the plastic wall. So I completely rebuilt it in Tinkercad using donnyb99's model as a template. I also added in extra stiffening/bracing, thickened up the structure quite a bit, made seats for the horizonal idler screw sleeves thus allowing more "bite" on the thread. It has a reversed knob for better grip remixed by <a href ="https://www.thingiverse.com/make:357643">Phillipe</a>. The results are pretty awesome. This thing is very robust with way less slop and jiggle.

As noted by donnyb99, you will need one M5x25 bolt and a matching nut (hex head is recommended for the screw).

***UPDATE*** As per user request, I have also included a modifed slider that accommodates an M5 Allen Head Screw.

CR-10 Y-Axis Belt Tensioner Remix

The retainer ring snaps into place firmly holding the LED inside. Solder the wire leads before snapping the ring in place. The ring is removable, it just makes assembly that much easier. You can use my photos for wiring reference. They should be wired in parallel and powered by a 12VDC output source. Remember, the more you string together the higher the amperage power supply will be required or the light output will be reduced.

I use these to light my printers and work area, but they will work nicely for under cabinets, inside cabinets, behind entertainment centres or anywhere you want bright economical lighting options.

LED G4 Light Fixture

I needed some method of hanging ropelights around my patio handrail that was easy to take on and off and would be durable. I printed these in white ABS to withstand the winter sub-40°C and +40°C summer temps that we get in Saskatchewan, Canada. 2 years on and they still work great and look great. I spaced them about 2.5ft apart and they hold the ropelight nice and taught.

I have included a few different profiles to accommodate a few different size handrails. I recommend you measure yours and then print the most appropriate one. A slight amount of scaling would be acceptable, however the ropelight opening may be compromised.

ABS recommended with an infill of 20-30%.

Outdoor Ropelight Hook for Aluminum Handrail

I have a lot of rechargeable AA and AAA batteries for my photography. And it's a pain in the ass to keep track of which ones are charged or depleted. So I made this box with a snap on lid to keep them organized. I divided it up for better sorting and to keep them from bouncing around in transit. It fits snuggly into my photogear bag.

I hope others will find it useful.

Battery Box with Lid (AA and AAA)

I created this universal camera mount to sit on the front of my X1 Sidewinder base using the existing hex screw located in the centre of the Y-axis rail. I have two other versions (see below) that this is based off of. With this version, I increased the length of the neck on the Y axis to allow the bed full travel without hitting it. I also made the cord channel a bit wider and more sculpted to make it fit thicker cords more easily.

Artist Paintbrush Organizer

This is a remix of my original watch band holder: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4197989. Look there for print settings and additional information. I added the AirPods charging dock. It uses the original Apple Lightning cable that comes with the AirPods. The tolerance is very snug for a good fit that does not require glue or clips to hold the cable in place. Make sure your printer is properly calibrated. You should anticipate having to do a very slight amount of filing with a round file to get a nice tight fit. Careful when inserting cable to not strain or overbend it. Align it, then push it firmly into place with some needlenose pliers.

The charge dock is located on the right end of the shelf. If you want it on the left, simply mirror the model in your slicer.

I love to get new watch bands for my Apple Watch to keep things fresh. I created this versatile band holder and mini shelf to keep my growing collection organized. It has enough slots to accommodate 21 bands. The convenient top shelf can hold the watch, cuflinks or other jewelry or small items. It can be attached to the wall with either drywall screws or 3M double sided tape.

Apple Watch Band Organizer with Shelf and AirPods Charging Dock

I designed these lightweight heads for my Prusa i3Mk2S to provide a broad cast of light in the front and back. They are designed so that you can have light in the front, the back, or both as the light standards are independant. Small gauge wiring will run through the inside of the light standards and out the mount. There are some utility hooks on the mounts for cable management. Only use supports manually placed underneath the dome. DO NOT put supports inside the tubes or you will have a heck of time getting them out. With good bridge settings, you should have no troubles. I printed mine in PETG and used high temp hot glue to hold the lamps in the heads (CA glue will also work). All parts are held together with CA glue.

I made the joints very snug, so a bit of sanding or slight tweaking with a scalpel may be required for the best fit. I suggest you do a dry fit first, take apart, run wiring through and solder it up, then glue and assemble. Make sure you have the gantry mounts oriented correctly for your application, they should attach from the back side or they will interfere with the X-axis at maximum Z-height.

3D Printer Camera Mount - Universal for 2020 or 2040 Extrusion

Modelled in Fusion 360. I made this lens cap cover for my replacement dive housing. I have a Hero 3 and purchased some underwater filters but later leared that they fit the newer style Hero 4 housing which has a smaller lens opening. None of my Hero 3 accessories fit, so I made my own.

I printed this out of Filamentum's FlexFill. It fits nice and snug and protects very well and adds good shock absorbtion as well.

Printed face down at .2mm layer height on the Prusa i3 Mk2S.

*** I have revised this design again. I didn't like the original wrist angle and so I changed the grip tilt. Now the your wrist should be more naturally aligned. I also reinforced the fulcrum point to account for the increased angle.

Nicely balanced, lightweight and strong with generous grip. Makes cutting, planing and routing wood stock much safer.

Here is an octagonal bowl that I designed and printed using woodfil filament, then sanded and finished with stain. It can be scaled up or down in size within your slicer depending on your needs.

Print with 2 perimeters and low infill. I recommend printing at high resolution of .01 to .015mm layer height for easier finishing or for a different look, print at a very coarse layer height or wider nozzle size.

Octo Bowl

I made this replacement slider for the upper track of a bi-fold door. Because it does not have a spring mechanism it requires at least one good slider with the spring to be installed on the opposite door.

I recommend that you print it using Nylon or Taulmann Bridge or TPU. Nylon or Taulmann will have low friction and good long-term durability.

15% or higher infill.

but I've added a convex bottom so that it can recess for a tighter fit on some gas applicances where the valve protrudes.

This one will require a bit of bed survace support in the center. Also add a good brim or raft to help keep it stuck to the bed.

Print in ABS or other outdoor suitable plastic. Fits standard gas valve keyed shaft found on most BBQs or outdoor gas appliances.

I would recommend a bit of acetone smoothing if printing in ABS.

I made this simple, yet strong spool holder that utilizes 1/2 inch PVC pipe to support multiple spools as close together and as tight to the wall as possible. The design of the bracket allow the shelves to be stacked closely as well. The screw slots are designed for easy mounting.
