An updated version of my little in-line winch. I wrote up a [full description of the modifications and their reasonings here](https://jfs-agri.com/index.php/bubsbuilds-projects/assorted-hopefully-useful-stuff-projects/64-lilwinch) (along with the design and build info for the original design.) But the general gist is that is made it a bit stronger to avoid the frame opening up and reducing the gear mesh.
Printing the worm and worm gear in resin, if you have the option, will definitely give ya a smoother operation, but I’ve now made several of these in PETG and they’ve worked just fine. The cheap gear motors I’m using aren’t exactly quiet anyway :)
I haven't yet tried to test one of the V2s to failure, but I have thus far picked up ~4kg (~9lb) repeatedly without issue. For that setup I was using a 120RPM, 24VDC motor.
The CAD files are available, should you be so brave, here.
