A friend requested a globe bank for the coins he brings back from his trips abroad. He suggested using the great 'Textured Earth' from Bid as a starting point.

I upscaled the globe to ~178mm and hollowed it out, then added the coin slot on top.

I cut out a section of Antartica to create the coin door, and to make it fit back in, I borrowed the screw threads from Arciello.

I modified lard canoe's globe stand to fit the larger globe and contoured it to fit the bottom (only fits one way, nice and snug).

And finally I created a hex key to be able to remove and add the coin door.
 
This should print fine, a test print is underway. If you print it before I post results, and find that the coin door is too tight, downsize it in your slicer by 2% and reprint the coin door.

Earth Coin Bank

Some of my most fond memories of the summer were by a camp fire. Nothing was more exciting than helping out with the family camp fire. I was always elected as the "fire marshal" since I was in boy scouts.

This can holder is my interpretation of camping during my childhood. A log around any campfire was the perfect seat and a hatchet was my tool to help feed the hungry  fire.

I hope all of you can reminisce about your family camping trips as you sip out of your very own camp log can cup!

**Print Settings**
I suggest printing at .2mm layer height with 25% infill. You will need to print it at a higher infill to make sure the handle is nice and solid to support the can. The model will need some supports at the bottom of the handle to print.

This is my version of a desktop lantern.  I wanted something that I could take camping, so this is powered by a single 18650 cell.

The project is pretty simple, and many people will only have to purchase the LED bulb to salvage the PCB from.

I've included a space for a buck converter in case anyone decides to use a different light emitter,  and requires one.  (i've built in a spot for adjusting the pot screw without opening the housing)

There is plenty of space inside the housing for mods/activities.  (eg. additional batteries?)

While not considered waterproof, if you have your printer dialed in, this design IS supposed to be water resistant.  I've had it out in the rain without issue.

TinCognito - Blank (Use to make new)

A small size blower made for the purpose of inflating an inflatable bed. Didn't want to bring along a big and heavy blower for my camping trips. This one uses a small dc motor powered by a 5v USB. The one shown in my video is using 10k rpm but it works much better with a 20k rpm motor or higher. The impeller was designed to fit on an 11 teeth gear. I use plastic gear because the motor shaft will be too hot for PLA to withstand. How firm the bed can be inflated depends very much on the power of the dc motor but for this application, it's just enough for my little kids' weight.

This sculpture is one in a series of three derived from the Clifford parallel geodesics of the cell-centered stereographic projection of the four-dimensional 600-cell. Visit my page for links to others in this series. See here for video: https://youtu.be/MTMeT03aBJ0 

The 600-cell is a stunningly beautiful regular 4-polytope, but its beauty is nearly impossible to perceive because, well, we can only perceive three dimensions!

One way to deconstruct and appreciate the 600-cell is to understand it in terms of geodesic great circles. The 600-cell is made up of 72 great decagons. The 72 great decagons can be divided into 6 sets of 12 non-intersecting Clifford parallel geodesics, such that only one decagonal great circle in each set passes through each vertex, and the 12 decagons in each set reach all 120 vertices.

When exploring or printing these sculptures, I encourage you to orient to the geometry by first locating the complete decagons. Every line portion of is course part of a larger great decagon that has been removed to reduce complexity and highlight specific aspects of the geometry.

These are advanced sculptures to print and require meticulous planning and support structures. The models pictured were printed with an FDM printer, 0.4mm nozzle at 0.1mm layer height, although these designs are probably better suited to SLA or SLS printing technology.

This project was inspired by the book "Visualizing Mathematics with 3D Printing" by Henry Segerman.

Clifford Carousel

Named because of its circular symmetries, this sculpture is the easiest to print. It is made up of nine of the smallest Clifford parallel geodesics connected with “struts” to form three interconnected 30-tetrahedron Boerdijk–Coxeter helix rings. 

Clifford Core

Named because of its similarity to an apple core, this sculpture does not contain any full geodesic great circles, but instead shows the interrelation between portions of eleven geodesic great circles, one through the middle and ten twisting around. The sculpture can also be seen as portions of five twisted Boerdijk–Coxeter helix rings containing 21 of the full 30 tetrahedrons.

Clifford Climber

Named for is similarity to playground climbing structures, this sculpture contains nine of the largest Clifford parallel geodesics which, like the “Clifford Carousel,” are connected with “struts” to form three interconnected 30-tetrahedron Boerdijk–Coxeter helix rings. This sculpture is the most difficult to understand and by far the trickiest to print!

This is the original design for the blank coozie by @MandicReally.  While this design was comedic in all aspects, I was inspired to create this model because of the experiences I had growing up camping with my late grandpa and my dad.  We would always inevitably forget to bring toilet paper, which led to some very funny and valuable memories.  I hope this model will bring you as much joy as I have been from my experiences with my family.

Blank 12 Oz Cup Coozie

My submission for #MakerMadness March. Before I start describing my submission I'd like to give credit as the claw is a remixed version of maxbraindevices' bistable compliant claw (https://www.thingiverse.com/maxbraindevices/designs) and the rod clasp are both remixed versions of mgx's rod clasp (https://www.thingiverse.com/mgx/designs). This is my first contest so I wasn't sure if remixed parts were allowed.

Now then, you may be asking why choose a claw grabber for this theme? Drop something behind your bed a few months ago? Use this just in time for Spring cleaning! Or if you’ve been tired of seeing litter around your neighborhood, now you can prepare yourself for Earth Day.

Assembly instructions and things I'm going to fix:
The rod clasp can be put onto a pole. I used a hiking stick, although one could probably be resized to a broom handle. (Printed at 100%, but again depends on what you're putting it on).

The coil in the (Unsaved) file stl, can be unraveled to make a thread loop through the notch on the claw with two ends being attached to the thread ring. (Printed at 147%)

And to attach the claw to the rod clasp, I used hot glue lol, but a better choice would to use a 3d printed peg, (I've yet to make one). (Printed at 110%)

Another flaw I've noticed is that the design is specialized for my hiking stick. Although one could modify the rod clasp in Cura, I'll still work on how to make a compliant version that sticks onto broom handles, actual sticks, or a 3d printed handle.
