This Chain Link Vase is part of the “Love Locks” project. Use it on its own or with pre-made “Love Locks.” 

If you really want to impress your Valentine, try remixing your own Love Locks with custom initials or messages!

To hold water, you will need to place a cylindrical glass vase inside of the Chain Link Vase. The inside diameters of the small and large Chain Link Vase are approximately 50mm and 100mm respectively.

Peer inside the heart-shaped openings in this tealight holder and you’ll see a complex surface structure inspired by the “chordea tendineae,” thread-like bands of fibrous tissue that anchor your heart valves in place. The chordae tendineae are colloquially known as the “heart strings.”

What could be more romantic?

The heart-shaped profiles are formed by slicing precise cross-sections of the mathematic Fischer-Koch C(Y) triply periodic minimal surface.

Made for valentines day for a friend of mine

Anatomically Correct Voronoi Heart

Odd desk ornament? Weird Valentine’s Day gift? Award for someone with a big heart? I’m not sure how you’d use this, but here it is!
The vena cava is just right for a bundle of flowers, and the ventricles can hold small chocolates.
The Voronoi surface follows both the inner and outer surfaces of the heart, so the inner walls of the ventricles and atria are present. Valves have been removed, so there are holes passing between the cavities.
Internal supports have been added, especially for the bottom of the inner wall of the left ventricle that would start printing in mid air otherwise. The supports are barely visible in the finished print, so they do not need to be removed.
You will need to add outside support for the overhangs of the pulmonary veins. You will also need some general support for the area around the apex. The “Tree” supports in Cura work well for this.

Valentines Heart Bowl

This heart-shaped candy bowl sits on top of a matrix of separate but intertwined chiral channels of the Laves Graph. 

Maybe you and your loved one are like intertwined chiral channels?

The channels are approximately 2mm in diameter, which is as small as you’d want to go with a 0.8 mm nozzle. The example in the picture above is printed with a 0.8mm nozzle, and up close you can see a few imperfections. If you like this size, I suggest using a smaller nozzle. If you want to use a 0.8mm nozzle, I suggested scaling up a bit.
