This remix of the [Spring Latch](https://thangs.com/file/54421) mechanism adds a keychain hook.

The bottom of the print is flat so it can easily be customized with inset text to label your keychains.

**Customization**

Choose between the loose spring or the stiff spring depending on how strong you want the latch hold to be.

If you want more distance between the wall and the latch, use the “Tall Post” versions of the springs.

.step files have been included so you can easily customize with your own text labels.


**Printing**

No supports required.

Print the spring with enough perimeters (shells) so that the arms of the spring are solid.

If you customize with inset text, switch your filament out mid-print to get the text to really pop! 


**Assembly**

Use a small short screw to attach the spring to your wall. Make sure any hardware sits flush or nearly flush with the latch surface.

Strong double sided mounting tape can also work.

This simple spring latch can be used on its own or remixed into other models to add an easy snap-fit mechanism.

**Printing**
- All parts can be printed without supports.
- Print the spring with enough perimeter lines that the flexible arms are solid.
- Tested with PLA and PETG.


**Assembly**
If attaching to a wall, nail or screw the spring into the wall surface. Make sure any hardware sits flush or nearly flush with the latch surface.

If attaching to a 3D printed object, use a strong glue. 3D Gloop is a good option - it will fuse the plastic together into a very strong bond.


**Options**

The spring comes in both tight and loose versions. If scaling down, use the the tight spring to keep as much strength as possible. If scaling up, stick with the looser spring.

If the spring feels too loose, try the “Frame with Tighter Clearance”, with has half the clearance of the original.

A simple door latch that can be placed high on our sliding glass door to prevent children from being able to get to the pool unsupervised.

print in place.  I blocked support where the latch goes through the hasp.

I had some cabinet doors that wouldn't stay shut, so why not print some quick little magnetic stoppers and save a trip to the hardware store?

These work with [3mm x 6mm magnets](http://bit.ly/DiscMagnets). I printed the model using [Fillamentum 98A Flexfill](http://bit.ly/flexFill) (Pistachio) and also used some metal thumbtacks I had around, although you could simply use two of these stoppers back to back for twice the holding strength!

Magnetic Stopper for Cabinet Doors

3D printed screwdriver with a 3D printed locking mechanism. 

Yes It would be easier to go out and purchase a swappable bit screwdriver. But the manufactureres seem to think that I need to fit 800 other bits into the handle so the handles alwasy feel oversized to me. 

I needed a light duty screwdriver for makerspace work and general screwdriving needs. In the tests I have conducted with this tool, it can unscrew most bolts provided they are not stuck, I have also driven a coarse thread screw into a wooden board partway to start it for my drill. It works well for the materials it is made out of. Mine is PLA but PETG would work much better due to its higher layer adhesion.

All parts are swappable if something breaks and a "handle blank" file is included for those who wish to design their own handle. 




!!!IMPORTANT!!! 
This design will only function correctly with impact driver bits. The magnetless locking mechanism needs to use the notch from the impact bits in order to function properly. 

Materials:
1x M3x20mm flat screw
1x M3x16mm flat screw
1x M4x50 socket screw
2x M3 hex nut
1x M4 hex nut

Assembly: 
You will need one of each part that ends with "f". The handle blank is not required but if you would like to customize a handle you are more than welcome to. (I wanna see some meme handles.)

Please check the assembly file for where the hardware goes.
The M3x20 attaches the latch to the shaft, the M3x16 attaches the switch to the shaft, and the M4x50 attaches the handle to the shaft.

3D Printed Screwdriver (no magnets required!)

Replacement latch for one of those very large totes with the handle latch that rolls over the lid (see picture). It's a bit hard to put in without pinching your fingers but just put one end in one side and pull the other side in as gentle as you can and go from bottom up to the hole.


seems to work okay. Don't print in PLA or it will probably snap. ABS may be better. I printed mine on the top side.

Designed this window latch for the kids cubby house.

Used two M5 25mm hex head bolts for the pivots.

Secured to the window and frame with:
- one 39mm M4 countersunk screw for the spike.
- four 15mm M4 countersunk screws for the 2 brackets.

I did want a slightly longer arm but was limited by my Ender 3 build plate size.
