Christmas Tree Shoe Topper (stand)

A friend of mine wanted to adorn the top of their Christmas tree with an Air Jordan 1. Enter, whatever this is!  

This device is meant to discretely hold up the shoe of your choice.

PS.  Don't judge the photos.  I'm not a sneaker head, so i didn't have anything pretty to model on this stand.

Santa Baby Yoda Christmas Decoration

This a remix of the [Baby Yoda Christmas Tree Decoration No Circle](https://thangs.com/designer/frikarte3D/3d-model/Baby%20Yoda%20Christmas%20Tree%20Decoration%20No%20Circle-551142?manualModelView=true).
In that version I changed the clothes to be able to print white the suit in white and red to become a Santa Claus suit.
It's designed to be printed in different color changes to achieve the final result, if you want you can print it in one color and paint later.
This is the filament color change configuration if you print with 0.2mm layer using Cura with "Pause at Height":
0 to layer 5 (0 to 1mm) = Red
6 to 9 (1.2 to 1.8mm) = Green
10 to 13 (2 to 2.6mm) = Black
14 to 17 (2.8 to 3.4mm) = White

This is a Gizmo Christmas Tree decoration. It's the lovely Gizmo from Gremlins with a Christmas hat. 
It's designed to be printed in different color changes to achieve the final result, if you want you can print it in one color and paint later.

Christmas Tree

This is an easy-to-print, modern Christmas tree. Looks really well as a winter decoration. It can be printed in vase mode as well as standard mode.

**Recommended print settings**

- vase mode: yes
- bottom solid layers: 7
- extrusion width: 1 mm

Printing it with 1 mm extrusion width makes it solid enough.

This model prints nicely with fuzzy skin feature on it. It adds additional strength and hardiness to the walls.

When printing in standard mode, seam position should be set to aligned.

The tip of the tree should be printed slowly to avoid unwanted deformations.

**ABOUT THE DESIGN**
Yep, this is yet another variation on my Christmas Balls with Integrated Stems. You can't keep a good designer down. There's no photo because my prototype is still printing. Still, it's 80% done and the rest is identical to other prints I;'ve published, so I already know it should work. Give it a try. It's relatively easy to print. 

**RESIZING**
This ornament should scale up well, but I'm not sure how much smaller you could print it using a consumer FDM printer. Using a resin printer, you could probably print it much smaller.

**PRINT TIME**
About 6 hours

**PRINT SETTINGS**
The trickiest parts to print is the top of the stems. Using FDM, if you don't temp, speed, flow, and cooling right, the thin parts of the stem will melt as you print. Thinner walls help. If that's not enough, try increasing the layer height.

*Thickness*

* Layer thickness: .15 mm
* Wall thickness: 0.4 – 0.8 mm.

I had the best results using Cura setting the default width to 0.4 mm and adding custom settings for the main ball that printed it 0.8 mm thick. You can do this by adding a support blocker to the bottom and giving it custom settings of 0.4 mm. Cura adds the two and prints the area within the blocker at 0.8 mm.

*Infill*
These do not need any infill. JUST DON'T DO IT.

*Speed*
* Outer Wall: 35 mm/sec
* Inner Wall: 40 mm/sec
* Travel SpeeD: 60 mm/sec

*Build Plate Adhesion*
I used a brim. With the supports, you shouldn't need a raft.

*Supports*
You will probably need supports for both bed adhesion and the overhang on the first few layers. You shouldn't need supports for the loop at the top. Adding them would just increase the chances the supports broke and caused the print to fail. If you get supports inside the ball, just add a support blocker.

* Support Structure: Normal
* Support Placement: Touching Buildplate
* Support Overhang Angle: 60 Degrees
