Closed Spiral Christmas Ornament

**ABOUT THE DESIGN**
This is a new variation on my Christmas Balls with Integrated Stems.

**NOT TO BE SOLD**
**I'm sharing my files so that you can make them for yourselves or give them away as gifts. I hope you enjoy them. I do not authorize sale of my work by anyone. Please don't ask me.**

**RESIZING**
These should scale up well, but I'm not sure how much smaller you could print them using a consumer FDM printer. Using a resin printer, you could probably print them much smaller.

**PRINT TIME**
About 4 hours.

**PRINT SETTINGS**
The trickiest parts to print is the top of the stems. Using FDM, if you don't temp, speed, flow, and cooling right, the thin parts of the stem will melt as you print. Thinner walls help. If that's not enough, try increasing the layer height. I printed at 200 C with 115% flow.

*Thickness*

* Layer thickness: .15 mm
* Wall thickness: 0.4 mm. 

*Infill*
This does not need any infill. JUST DON'T DO IT – especialy if you print it with transparent filament.

*Speed*
* Outer Wall: 20 mm/sec
* Top/Bottom Speed: 20 mm/sec
* Travel Speed: 50 mm/sec

*Build Plate Adhesion*
I relied on the supports for build plate adhesion. 

*Supports*
I first printed with used normal supports and an overhang angle of 67 degrees and no other supports. It worked until 2 minutes from completion, when the model came loose from the bed. When I tried again, I with an overhang angle of 64 degrees and added 8 custom supports that keep the model from wobbling. I've included a screenshot from Cura of the supports. 

I added a support blocker in the loop to keep from having supports added inside the loop.

Ice Bowl (Small)

Add some artic chic to your serving table this year with these cool ice bowls.

These are advanced prints that require a well calibrated printer and experience with slicing complex models. 

The bowls are printed upside down. I recommend raising the model 3mm off the build plate and building supports up into the cavity of the bowl.

In order to maximize optical clarity and visual effect, you will want to minimize the amount of infill. These are excellent prints to try out the “lightening infill” feature in Cura. “Lightening infill” minimizes the amount of infill material used, and also creates interesting “crack” silhouettes in the finished print.

Increase the infill density and reduce the angle of overhang that gets supported, aiming for adequate support at the base of the icicle, but minimal support up inside the icicles. Be sure to do a layer-by-layer inspection prior to printing to ensure that all areas are properly supported.

Darth Vader Christmas Tree Decoration

This is a Darth Vader Mask Christmas Tree Decoration.
It's designed to be printed in different color changes to achieve the final result, if you want you can print it in one color and paint later.
This is the filament color change configuration if you print with 0.2mm layer:
0 to layer 13 (0 to 2.6mm) = White
14 to 17 (2.8 to 3.4mm) = Black
18 to 21 (3.6 to 4.2mm) = Red
