Siberia "840, 800, H" Replacement Hinge V3

This is my 2nd Version of this part, due to ergonomic issues, the last version felt different than the original hinge and started to feel uncomfortable, so I tried to get as close to replicating them.

I achieved this by changing the angle from 11° to 25°, though if you prefer the original angle, I've included a version that is 11°

I basically redesigned the entire model in Onshape, all hardware from the previous version can be reused in this version

Should work with Siberia 800, Siberia 840, and Siberia H.

This Design uses a 4mm E-clip to secure the hinge, and I used M2x6mm self tapping screws from the same assortment box of screws I used for Jakob's version (his version uses the M1.5x5mm) so everything cost me about $27 bucks, Cheaper than a new headset.

And you'll need some files.

I recommend cutting a small notch in the center of the e-clip so you can visually see where to pull it out if you have to disassemble it.

Feel free to modify / improve on this design, I'll be including step files and a link to the Onshape Repo.

I recommend using Esun or Inland PLA+ PLA+ a very durable filament so I hope it lasts a long time.

I recommend tuning "Support Z Distance" for your machine, for me the layer height I print at works fine.

General Settings:

  • Layer Height: 0.16mm
  • Gyroid Infill: 10%
  • Tree Supports
  • Support Z Distance: 0.16mm
  • Tree Support Branch Distance: 0.15mm
  • Branch Angle Important!: 45°
  • Branch Walls: 2
  • Support Interface Pattern: Lines
  • Support Interface Thickness: 0.8mm

After printing you're gonna need to file the underside where the plate screws in, the plate should sit flush.

A Dremel or a precise cutting tool is required to get the earcup separate from the stock hinge without de-soldering the cable, Please be careful to not cut the cable, take your time be patient.
