Check out the latest version on Printables https://www.printables.com/model/452284-hotend-mount-adapter-for-ender-5-s1
What
This adapter is very simple - it mounts onto the gantry plate where the hot end usually would and your new hot end mounts to it - lowering the height while also providing standard distance mounting holes for a 40mm fan or cooling setup and it does not change the X or Y offsets.
I'm using it with a Mellow NF Smart, and have also tested it with a MicroSwiss all metal, I think it would fit my Spider 2.0. I'm not using the stock cooling anymore - but I'm pretty sure it would work.
Why
The Ender 5 S1 has a bit of a strange hot end - it comes with the Creality Sprite extruder - mounted to a spider hot end that's very similar - but not the same as the Ender 3 V2 Neo.
The stock hotend is much wider and longer than most, it also has holes to mount the cooling fan directly.
This is all fine until you want to swap it it out and realise that the nozzle would be too short to print without your CR Touch getting in the way, or if print new CR touch adapter to make it work - then realise you have nowhere to mount the hot end cooling fan to… and the list goes on.
How
I printed mine with a 0.6mm nozzle at 0.2 layer height with 4 perimeters and 50% cubic infill on my Ender 5 S1 which took around 22 minutes.
It goes without saying that you should make sure the dimensions are correct for your printer / mods etc…. I made this for myself but I can't think why it wouldn't be useful for other Ender 5 S1 owners. Note that I haven't tested it with the stock cooling.
Remix
I've included the Fusion360 and STEP files so it may be adapted for whatever cooling / gantry plate folks might be using - if you improve it I'd be very keen to backport general improvements so be sure to keep your source files and share them if you create a remix.
