This is a tank connector which is designed to be used as an outlet on a water tank.
NOTE: THIS IS NOT INTENDED TO BE USED FOR DOMESTIC OR COMMERCIAL PLUMBING, WHERE IT WOULD ALMOST CERTAINLY RESULT IN A LEAK.
I made this as a component of a Halloween Fog Chiller that I'm bulding!
The plain outlet pipe is designed to be compatible with UK standard universal fit or 40mm compression plumbing fittings, which are inexpensive and readily available.
You need to add a suitable washer in order to form a seal. If you can't find one with a suitable size, you can cut one from a sheet of rubber or similar. I used a sheet of foam to make a washer, and was able to get a water tight seal in a shallow tank with about 10cm depth of water totalling about 8 litres.
The male thread is 1.5" BSP and 20mm long with 40mm internal diameter. It's suitable for tanks with a wall thickness up to a maximum of about 10mm. The outlet is 25mm long.
There are two different versions of the model: one with a 43mm diameter outlet, and one with a 40mm diameter outlet (to suit different types of compression fittings). Print either "body_40mm" or "body_43mm" as required.
The nut has a 1.5" BSP female thread and is 50mm across flats and is about 14mm high.
The outer diameter of the nut and the sealing face is 60mm. The outer diameter of the male thread is about 48mm. So you will need a washer with an internal diameter >= 48mm.
The whole assembly is 55mm long, which is about as short as I could make it (in an attempt to reduce print time).
