The two original Print files, “9mm Top"  and “9mm case"  Will ONLY fit rounds that are at or less than 1.1 inches. (Hollow points some ball ammunition)  

The two new print files “9mm Top 1.169 Max” and “9mm Case 1.169 Max” should allow ANY standered 9mm round to fit without lid clearance issues. If your rounds are longer than 1.169 inches you probably have bigger issues than them not fitting in this case.

Print files can be printed on the same plate but if you are having surface quality issues I suggest printing separately. 

Magnets (8x2mm) can be incorporated into the lid and case during printing. They give a satisfying "click" when the box is slid shut and do a good job keeping it closed. When the lid is removed it is inserted into the slot in the base of the case to push the rounds up for access.  

**My print settings: (Your mileage may vary) **

0 .4mm nozzle
0.12 layer thickness
Matte PLA 
Print both the case and lid vertically, no supports should be required.  
I suggest disabling “slow down for overhangs” settings unless your pressure advance and flow rate settings are really zeroed in. 
As satisfying as they are, magnets are not 100% necessary for this print and can be skipped if desired. The case will print fine without them. 

**Magnet Install:**

The magnets are installed into the case during the printing process. 
When slicing locate the last print layer before the magnet holes are caped (will depend on your layer thickness) and add a pause at that layer.


For Bambu studio and Orca slicer, this can be done by right-clicking the plus sign (+) on the layer slider on the right side of the preview screen and selecting “Add pause”

Once the print has paused at the designated layer, drop the magnets in and resume the print. 
Pay close attention to the polarity of the magnets when installing them in the top and case! I suggest testing and marking the side of the magnet you want face down/up. 
Also verify that the magnet wont pop out and stick to your print head… advisably before you start printing…

**If you have made it this far down… **

Due to being in the middle of getting an engineering degree, I cant put as much time as I would like into testing and proofing these designs. Some aspects may not always be as perfectly optimized as they could be and simple mistakes can slip through. As a result, this model is and will remain a free download! I will continue to update and improve as time allows, and any feedback is much appreciated.

**.308 Ammunition Case - Print-in-Place with Bolt-Action Latch**

This is 3D-printed case designed to securely hold 20 rounds of standard .308 ammunition. The click-fit silhouettes ensure a snug fit for any brand or bullet tip style, as long as it uses a standard .308 casing.

**Key Features:**

Click-Fit Silhouettes: Each round is held securely in place, when the case is shaken or bumped. After "testing" with a few hundred inserted and removed rounds, the design has retained its firm hold. Although wear will certainly occur with prolonged use, it should require a ridiculous amount of regular use before it would wear out.

Print-in-Place Design: The entire model prints as one piece. The only supports required, are already included in the CAD design, so you can simply print and go.
Sealing Mechanism: The case has a raised profile on one side and a corresponding groove on the opposite side. While not airtight, it provides a dust and grime barrier and aids alignment between the lid and base. 

Latching Mechanism: This case uses a 'bolt-action' sliding pin in the base, which locks securely through the post in the lid when closed. The bolt can be slid forward and pivoted down to lock flush with the exterior, ensuring the case stays closed during transport.

**Future V2 Updates:**

The next version will include an actual TPU gasket for a tighter seal. My attempts in the current version to include a gasket didn’t perform as intended, so I’m reworking the latch mechanism for better, evenly distributed holding pressure to allow for a good seal.
V2 will also introduce an optional spring-loaded bolt-action latch, utilizing a standard ink pen spring, making it easy for anyone to assemble without special parts. This feature requires minor assembly, so it will not be completely print-in-place like the current version.

**Print Settings:**

Printer: Bambu Labs P1S
Nozzle: 0.4mm
Layer Height: 0.12mm (other layer heights should work but are untested)
Material: Matte PLA (I plan to print in ABS for additional strength in future iterations)

Print Time: Approximately 7.5-8 hours with the above settings.

Feel free to test different materials or settings, but keep in mind I’ve only tested the design with the above materials and settings. Your results may vary.

I’m currently working towards an engineering degree, and time for extensive model testing and refinement is a bit scarce. As a result, some aspects of the design might not be fully optimized, and occasional oversights will happen. For that reason, this model is and will remain available as a free download. 308 Case Assembly.3mf

This is designed to fit the included water reservoir or the "Simply" brand of juice bottles (and potentially other wide-mouth bottles). It acts as a delayed watering system, it dispenses water below the soil surface directly to the roots of the plants, reducing water loss from evaporation and drainage. 

The flow rate is controlled by 5 flow restricted inserts that can be modified and printed separately from of the spike cap to allow me play with/ adjust the flow rate without having to reprint the entire thing each time.

There is also a TPU seal that can be added to help if the cap doesn't seal with the bottle. I've found that as long as print quality is high in that area, the seal is not usually required.

The printable reservoir holds just over 1 liter of water which works well for many indoor or potted plant applications.
