Air Layering Turtle
I’ve never had much luck rooting cuttings from my plants So, I set out to design some small air layering pods so I could propagate my herbs in situ.
After making the first version I noticed it kind of looked suspiciously like a turtle… I told myself I definitely wasn’t going to waste time on “cute” details. But somehow, despite that very serious resolution, by lunchtime I’d added a head. By dinner: a tail and shell scutes. Resistance was futile, the Turtle Pod had hatched.
I’ve successfully propagated thyme, oregano, and basil with them. Not exactly master-level difficulty plants, but hey, zero failures, I’ll take that as a win.
Assembly: The two halves of the pod are held together by small 8x2mm magnets in the four feet.
