I found that PLA, when under prolonged tension/stress will deform and weaken. Many of the things I had mounted had become less sturdy over time. In an effort to strengthen or reinforce those mounting points, I decided to add heated inserts to threaded bolts. Depending on the object you're trying to mount, the heated insert can be mounted to the front or to the back for even more strength to the mounting point.
