Looking at the pen stand on my desk, I realized it doesn't have to be a static object that is only able to hold pens on a flat surface. It can double up as a pencil case/pen case that can be carried around to office/school. I came up with this double hinged swivel design with gears to make the lid close through 180 degrees. #DIY #augustchallenge
For printing this, refer to how I've split up the gears and the case in the stl files. For printing the case, add box support enforcers in prusa slicer for the swivel hinges on both sides. this is enough Print the gears separately along the z axis and use a little super glue to attach them into place.
Printer - Ender 3v2
Print settings Layer height/resolution - 0.2mm Infill - 15% for case, 100% for gears Supports - refer to description above Brim recommended for gears Material - eSUN PLA+
