Hextraction - The Nuke Tile
This is my first published tile for Hextraction, the hackable, 3D-printable board game by Zack Freedman.
The Nuke tile is a remix of a bomb tile with some different mechanics to play with.
I have made a few refinements to the tile, the base is slightly tapered so that it better fits into the game board with vertical walls, I have also modelled in tabs to the bottom of the little supports to improve the chance everything will stay stuck to the build plate for those that might have issues.
Tile mechanics When the tile is triggered, there is a disaster and the Nuke explodes in its silo. This destroys the Nuke tile and some or all of the surrounding tiles that are touching the nuke tile. To determine how many of the adjacent tiles are destroyed by the Nuke, roll 1D6, the player then chooses that many of the adjacent tiles to destroy.
Other options to make play more interesting is how the tile is triggered. This should be decided before the game starts. Always - The tile is triggered whenever a ball passes through it. 50/50 - When the ball passes through, roll 1D6 and if the number is even, boom - roll again to determine how many tiles are destroyed as collateral damage, if odd, nothing happens. 2 in 6 - Roll a 1 or 6 and boom, anything else and nothing happens. Critical Fail - Roll a 1 and boom, any other number and nothing happens.
Files include the tile and card. There is also a tile with the nuke removed and a separate nuke that you can print and glue into the silo hole, this is if you want to print the nuke a different colour or something. Please share your makes :)
