#Gridfinity Bendy McLampface

Say Hello to your desk workstation's new best pal, Bendy McLampface!

Bendy is a #Gridfinity module with an articulated spine of connecting segments with an LED lamp inside! Bend, twist, pose and coil Bendy to whatever position suits you! Bendy can be as long or as short as you like, providing you have the wire and components to assemble him!

Bendy's internals consist of a salvaged USB micro cable, with the micro end cut off and the VCC and Ground wires connected via a SPST switch and a 100~ ohm resistor to any LED you please.

I used a 3mm white LED but anything you can stuff down Bendy's throat will work great!

Once wired up glue the lid to the base and you're done. A magnetic base is highly recommended.

Segments are printed with the flat 'female' end of the connector on the build plate. Support may or may not be required for the switch slot on the Lid depending on how well your printer can bridge.

Glue on Bendy's face to the bezel of the Lamp Shade (or don't Bendy will understand I'm sure).

Make sure to tie a knot in the usb cable to provide some strain relief, Bendy will thank you!

This is a really cool model, You can even improvise with everything like me, I used 2 male to female jumper cables and the switch isnt even in the casem its a potentiometer on a external breadboard edit: oh yeah i also used double sided tape instead of using a magnetic baseplate, cause i didnt have any magnets

Nice!

Print the shade part in white, or at least paint the inside with white paint. That will double the apparent brightness and give a fuzzier "edge" to the pool of light.

I agree, I had black filament loaded though and was too lazy to change it.
