<i>Update: Seems GrowlerWerks have quietly made a ball lock cap available, complete with 20 PSI pressure relief valve, however most of the known and unknown universe would likely freeze before I buy anything else from GrowlerWerks.. https://www.growlerwerks.com/collections/parts-and-maintenance/products/ukeg-ball-lock-cap</i>
First attempt at moddeling a cap for the uKeg128 growler.
Will remix to add a bore and some threads to allow forced carbonation from an external CO2 source when I get this printed and fitted, and receive the CO2 parts as well.
Thread seems to be 5.65mm pitch, with about 2mm wide square threads. 47mm minor diameter and 51.5 major diameter.
O-ring is approx 47mm ID, 54mm OD. I used the original one off the original pressure regulating cap.
20190709: Changed thread to 5.65mm pitch (i.e. old 7.65 - 1 thread thickness). Added groove for o-ring.
20190709 II: Drew threads "on center" instead of "inside" current version looks pretty much the same as the original, but its a very loose fit and leaves a lot of cleanup due to supports. Might look into rounded or angled threads later.
20190710: Ditched the square threads like the original and made some that fit and print better. Printed okay without supports on my Up Mini 2.
20190714: Moving Fusion360 to the teams platform lost me the improved model somehow. Will need to re-do it before remixing it to add CO2 inlet :/
20190723: Added external threads to fit a PET/soda bottle to CO2 ball lock post adapter off fleaBay, threads fit, seal seems to engage top of the part, but I do have a leak somewhere, unsure if its the part although its been acetone smoothed to try and make it gas tight. .. but thingiverse won't let me upload the new model, only the picture of it :/
20190730: v6 file uploaded. Worth noting that this should ideally have a pressure relief value, or a relieving regulator, but I failed to find the information where GrowlerWerks stated what the pressure limit is. After smoothing this version with acetone it has held 15psi for a week (with an empty growler). Link to soda bottle cap thing: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?&_nkw=carbonation+cap
Failed to find specs from GrowlerWerks, but this comment on their Kickstarter campaign (or circus) says at least 35 PSI is within the design specs for the uKeg https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/growlerwerks/the-ukegtm-pressurized-growler-for-fresh-beer/comments?comment=Q29tbWVudC04Mjg4OTg5
