Magnet Polarity Identifier

A magnet polarity identifier staff.

You can use this, to reliably test your magnets orientation. It has a firm way of holding in the magnet to reproduce the same orientation over and over.

To use this, you will need a staff and a divider. Add your neodymium magnet into the staff and seal with the divider. The bottom of the staff is 5mm thick, which allows you to test the orientation of your magnets, without the risk of damaging either or pinching anything in between.

Optionally you can also print out two staffs, one with North orientation and one with South.

How to print:

No support or post processing required. depending on your printers calibration, a brim might be required for the staff.

  • Print any number of staffs (normal "North" or "South" can be used for easy multi-color print, or "Plain" if you want to add your own writing).
  • Pint a divider for each staff
  • Add a neodymium magnet into the staff
  • Seal the opening with the divider

The magnet will be firmly in the staff and still be strong enough to identify magnets orientations. If you use a strong enough magnet (neodymium turned out the best), the magnet still attracts to metal. To remove the magnet, simply push on one of the dividers are to "pop it out".
